VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP POSITIONS

HIKE LEADERS
There are up to three (3)
positions available for Hike Leaders with Black Women Hiking the DMV. This role is best suited for an avid hiker, camper, and/or backpacker who can safely guide a group across varied terrain and technical trails. Wilderness First Aid certification must be obtained.

EVENT PLANNER
This role is for co-planning or leading various off-trail events including helping with post-hike socials, educational events, co-facilitating our Book Club, and our special events. This role coordinates with hike leaders, as needed.

SOCIAL MEDIA & A/V LEAD
This role is suited for one who excels at implementing social media strategies and can use a wide variety of A/V equipment provided to help with the organization's storytelling through creative and relevant content.

GEAR COORDINATOR
This role helps with the solicitation and coordination of donations, physical collection, and inventory system for outdoor gear and organizing the lending system. This role has a significant administrative component.

This role is the co-lead on the Community Blog which includes soliciting and editing submitted written materials, organizing supporting graphics, and helping produce original content. This role also coordinates closely with the Social Media & A/V Lead and help's with the organization's storytelling.
